Mercedes to curb model expansion
The exponential model expansion at Mercedes is unlikely to continue further, said U.S. operations chief Ernst Lieb. "We're going to make the product lineup we have work," Lieb told The Car Connection in a recent interview.
Over the past few years, Mercedes has expanded into several niche markets with vehicles like the R-Class crossover and CLS-Class four-door coupe — a far cry from the days when launching the original C-Class was controversial.
